Observes and evaluates students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health Manages student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules, expectations, and procedures Plans and conducts activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate Īdapts teaching methods and instructional material to meet students’ varying needs and interests Provides a variety of materials and resources for students to explore, manipulate, and use Implements instructional activities contributing to meaningful learning experiences Prepares syllabi and lesson plans, following curriculum guidelines or school objectives Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods Additionally, the Co-Head Teacher communicates effectively and regularly with parents, and works collaboratively with the grade level team. Furthermore, this position is responsible for observing students and evaluating their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. The Co-Head Teacher helps students learn and understand abstract concepts, solve problems, and develop critical thinking skills and enthusiasm for learning and hard work. The incumbent is primarily tasked with planning and teaching all homeroom subjects. Under the general direction of the Head of Lower School, the Kindergarten/Lower School Co-Head Teacher is involved in all aspects of the classroom program. Additionally, the Co-Head Teacher must possess an enthusiastic commitment to the importance of building and sustaining a diverse, just, inclusive, and equitable academic environment. The Co-Head Teacher provides instruction in core content areas including language arts, mathematics, and social studies. The ideal candidate will be student-focused, projecting a vivid presence in the Lower School. The Collegiate School seeks an experienced Kindergarten/Lower School Head Teacher for the 2024-25 academic year, who will share Head Teacher responsibilities with another Co-Head Kindergarten Teacher.
